Christmas @ Peace

Celebrate Christmas with Us

Peace. Aren't we all searching for peace? We can never seem to find it. Oh sure we find fleeting peace at the cabin by the lake; we can immerse ourselves in a book or a movie or we can gather with loved ones. But soon that fleeting moment of peace passes and it's back to work, back to stress, back to the chaos and sadness of our world, and we're left with an unsettled heart, longing for something.

True peace isn't just the absence of war or trouble. Peace is something bigger. It is safety, wholeness, well-being. It's not just calm in the storm; it's ultimately an end to all of the storms. It's joy and restoration. It is the delight and wonder of a world greater than our imagination. Peace is everything the way it was meant to be by the One who made it all.

That is True Peace. It sounds wonderful, doesn't it? But where can we find it?!

It turns out True Peace finds us. You see, this Peace has a name: Jesus. This Peace came to earth. This True Peace will last beyond every storm of life and brings true wholeness. Christ came to this world to give you Peace, His Peace. Come join us this Christmas to hear about True Peace on Earth, and the Peace of Jesus will find you.

Why Peace?

Peace is a Christ-centered church that is devoted to "proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all" (Acts 10:36). On the cross, Jesus suffered "the punishment that brought us peace...by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Risen from the dead Jesus says "Peace be with you!" (John 20:19) In the midst of an unpeaceful world, Jesus promises you: "My peace I give you. Not as the world gives you do I give to you" (John 14:27). We are eager to share this good news of peace through Jesus with you!

Peace is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). You can visit the WELS web site for a more detailed statement of beliefs.
